본 연구실은 다양한 고체 구조의 대변형 및 기계적 불안정성과 스마트 재료의 물성 변화 메커니즘을 이해하고 활용하는 연구를 다룬다. 구조물의 비선형적인 변형과 잔류 응력을 테이블탑 스케일의 실험과 유한요소 시뮬레이션 그리고 이론적으로 해석하고, 이를 소프트 액추에이터 및 센서 등의 개발에 활용하는 연구를 수행한다.
