Our group develops advanced optical imaging technologies for biology and medicine. We build cutting edge advanced optical microscopy systems for the visualization of biological tissues in the cellular, molecular, and micro-structural levels in the levels of never seen before.
These optical microscopies can be used to study in vivo biology with animal models in the field of immunology, cancer biology, and neurology. These optical microscopies can also be used to diagnose diseases in the early stage, to monitor disease progression, and to guide precision surgery. We develop and apply our cutting edge optical microscopies in close collaborations with biologists, chemists, medical doctors both in POSTECH campus and throughout Korea. Most of clinical collaborators are renown people at major medical schools in Seoul and Daegu. We are trying our best to make our optical microscopies to be useful for new biological discoveries and medical procedures.
