Our lab is conducting research with the main goal of applying lasers to various manufacturing processes. Since laser material processing basically relies on the process of converting electromagnetic energy into thermal or mechanical energy, we study the physics of energy transfer in microscale, either spatially or temporally. Therefore, the emphasis is how laser energy is converted into heat and how it changes materials by thermal mechanisms. In this regard, various studies are being conducted.
